Malaysian culture is dominantly a fusion of various influences. While the various multi-racial society has their heritage and history like the Malays, Chinese and Indians, it was also influenced by European, Arab and Persian culture. Due to this, it hosts hundreds of festivals, celebrations and feasts throughout each year. Therefore it is always bustling with cultural and traditional activities.

Malaysia is a country that is rich in art, where there are institutions and galleries that showcases the arts and crafts while at the same time, Malaysia is also housed with many architectural wonders.

Malaysia is made up of a multicultural scene and of multi-ethnical traditions. Due to this unique landscape, the stems by which the culture influence and the correlation of arts and performances are very much evident. From the contemporary to the conventional, the traditional to the modern, the 3 dimensional to flat form, the aesthetical elements that make up the arts scene in Malaysia is very much reflected in the everyday life. More so, it is always possible to catch a performance or two during any weekend in around shopping malls, or in around any other parts of the country.

There is a wide range of musical performances found in Malaysia. To say the least, the geographical landscape of the county pretty much comes with differential musical influence. Coming from the roots of Filipino, Portuguese, Thai and Indonesian, the musical instruments here are mostly consist of a fusion or a descent of these traits. Different parts of Malaysia exudes different cultural backgrounds and musical preferences which pretty much demonstrates the fact that musically speaking, each region varies from one another. For instance, Malacca is famous for its Rongeng music while Kuala Lumpur is pretty much covered with influence of the Arabs in the Ghazal music. There would also essentially be a nationwide favoured music like Dondang Sayang and Zapin as well. apart from that, Malaysia too is highly influenced by the international music movement that ranges from America to Britain, Japan and other parts of the world.
